Technical Services Specialist Earns His BCE Certification

Nick Godfroid, Technical Services Specialist for Rockwell Labs, recently earned his BCE (Board Certified Entomologist) Certification from the Entomological Society of America. BCE certification allows professionals to showcase their capabilities and differentiate themselves from others in the field.

Nick has 5 years of experience in the industry and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Entomology from Oklahoma State University. He has previously worked with Orkin Exterminating as a Service Manager in Texas and Eco-Safe Pest Control in Texas as an Entomologist.

The BCE certification program tests the knowledge and experience of entomologists and certifies their professionalism. Several requirements must be met to become BCE certified including:

  • Holding a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in a biological or life science with at least 4 term length courses/research credits in Entomology
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Signing and adhering to the BCE Code of Ethics
  • Maintaining a minimum number of CEUs annually
  • Passing a rigorous examination

The exam covers topics such as the taxonomy, classification, and identification of insects, the history of insects and entomology, insect and arthropod anatomy, biology, morphology, and physiology, and the laws and regulations related to insects and arthropods. Earning a BCE certification demonstrates that the individual has a proven understanding of these topics. This is a great accomplishment and should be celebrated.

Congratulations, Nick
