What’s Changed with Aprehend®?

What’s Changed with Aprehend? Not much! Since Rockwell acquired Aprehend, we are producing it with the same raw materials from the same suppliers in the same equipment. We set up a separate area in our factory for only Aprehend, to avoid any possibility of cross-contamination in either direction. We did automate the induction sealing of the caps, labeling, and printing the batch info directly on the bottle, versus on a sticker, so you will see that difference. The same QC procedures developed by ConidioTec are followed. Each batch is tested for both spore count and germination rate.

In addition, each new lot of inert ingredients is tested with spores to ensure there is nothing in it that might inhibit proper spore germination. The product is made in small batches, typically 1-3 days a week depending on demand, so that it ships from us as fresh as possible. Between production and shipping out, the finished product is stored in a “cold room”. Dr. Bellicanta, co-developer of Aprehend and in charge of production at ConidioTec, spent two weeks onsite at the start-up to teach us the correct procedures. And continues to visit for a week every couple of months to cross-check our results as well as work on some other developments/microbiology projects.
