InTice Gelanimo’s Patented “Rigid Hydro-Gel” Technology

While ant baits are commonly used to tackle tough ant infestations, the bait itself is often times challenging to use from an application standpoint. For example, runny and gooey bait applications, especially when used at higher temperatures or stations with liquid bait that spill and become a sticky mess in the placement process. Rockwell Labs offers a range of borate-based ant baits that are formulated with a patented high moisture “rigid hydro-gel” technology for hassle-free applications, and makes it easier for ants to feed and carry the bait back to the nest.

How the “Rigid Hydro-Gel” Technology Works

InTice™ Gelanimo™ ant bait utilizes an innovative “rigid hydro-gel” technology. It has a high moisture content, like a liquid bait, but with a consistency similar to gelatin. The bait will remain stable at temperatures up to 130° F and will not become sticky or gooey. Ants can actually walk on top of the bait without drowning, allowing more ants to feed at once. This maximizes the amount of bait that reaches the colony. The ants can easily cut and carry pieces of the bait back to the nest. Unlike liquid baits, InTice Gelanimo will not spill or make a mess.

InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait

Rockwell’s InTice Gelanimo is a sweet bait that targets a wide range of ants. It kills common household ants except carpenter, fire, and harvester ants. The bait is formulated with 3% borax and quality food grade ingredients. It can be used indoors, including in food areas, as well as outdoors. Because it contains a mineral-based active ingredient, it is suitable for green service programs.

InTice Gelanimo is available in several different delivery applications depending on the type, location, and severity of the ant infestation. It is available in .25 oz ready-to-use station (indoor/outdoor use), a 35 g syringe (indoor/outdoor use), and a 4 oz cup that works with Rockwell’s Border Patrol station (outdoor use). The different sizes provide coverage for any application site or colony size.

.25 oz Ready-to-Use Stations

The unique .25 oz ready-to-use stations have a low-profile design for easy placement under appliances, on narrow ledges such as window sills, and other out-of-the-way places. They utilize a foil top, stronger seal, and high-tech plastic construction to minimize moisture loss in storage and in use. The stations feature an easy-to-remove sticker that covers the hole where ants will access the bait, allowing for a quick, tool-less placement in the field. The station’s design minimizes the potential for non-target contact with the bait. The stations can also be used to set up a perimeter defense system around the foundation of the structure. Simply place the stations about every 5 to 10 feet around the perimeter.

35 g Syringes

InTice Gelanimo is also available in 35 g syringes. Apply the bait to small pieces of cardboard, paper, or foil as well as in Rockwell’s BaitPlate™ Station. Place the bait in areas inaccessible to children and pets where ants have been seen. Ants often trail along structural edges, seeking out moisture and food. For effective control, position the bait placements next to ant trails. It is best to place numerous bait placements rather than fewer larger placements. If ants are entering from outdoors, it will help to bait outside close to where ants are found entering the structure.

4 oz Cups for Border Patrol Stations

The 4 oz InTice Gelanimo cups are ideal for use in our InTice Border Patrol™ System to set up and service a reusable perimeter defense for ants. It provides added exterior protection and control of heavy outdoor infestations. The durable, above ground stations can be placed around the perimeter of structures, focusing on areas where ants harbor such as near moisture and dense vegetation. The stations will help to keep the bait fresh, and the keyless, snap-on lid makes servicing the stations easy.

Tips for Effective Bait Applications

When baits are applied, you want to make sure you get the most effective results. Proper application, monitoring the bait, and preventative methods can help to make baiting efforts successful.

  • Always read and follow the Directions for Use section on product labels.
  • Locate the trail ants are following and place the bait stations or placements close to the trails.
  • For outdoor baiting, place the bait near the foundation or where ant trails are found. Space the bait stations or placements every 5 to 10 feet around the perimeter.
  • Monitor bait placements and ensure there is always a fresh supply.
  • Heavy infestations may require several bait placement refills.
  • In areas with exposed food, apply bait as a crack and crevice treatment. Clean up any product that remains outside of cracks and crevices.
  • Encourage your customers to implement preventative techniques to help eliminate conducive conditions. It is important to remove other food sources to ensure ants eat the bait.

Baits are an effective solution for difficult ant infestations. Rockwell’s InTice Gelanimo ant bait combines the proven performance of borates and innovative bait formulation technology for superior efficacy against ants along with easy-to-use delivery options.
