Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant

Botanical pesticides are effective against a broad spectrum of pests, providing quick control and kill. One concern for PMPs, however, is the length of the residual protection. Like conventional pesticides, botanical pesticides are affected by environmental conditions such as UV, heat, humidity, and rain. Rockwell’s Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant was specifically formulated to help extend the residual effectiveness of botanical pesticides and other water-based and/or water-diluted pesticides as well.

How Adjuvants Work

Adjuvants can be added to pesticide products to enhance their performance and the physical properties of the spray. They are commonly used in the agriculture and turf and ornamental markets. There are different adjuvants that perform unique functions involving the mixing and application of pesticides. They can affect how a pest control product emulsifies, spreads, sticks, wets, and disperses. Adjuvants can also help to reduce evaporation, spray drift, foaming, and volatilization. They can be added to a pesticide during its formulation or mixed with a pesticide before being applied.

Benefits of Using Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant

Adjuvants are beneficial to PMPs because they help to minimize spray application challenges and help to increase pesticide effectiveness. Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant is a proprietary nonionic surfactant that can improve pesticide applications and longevity. It provides several advantages including:

  • Extended Residual Protection: When Eco Extend is mixed with a botanical pesticide, it provides 31% less UV degradation versus when no adjuvant is used, helping to extend the residual protection of outdoor pesticide applications.
  • Enhances Emulsification, Spreading, & Sticking: Eco Extend enhances the emulsification of the diluted solution as well as the spreading and sticking of applications to foliage and surfaces. This also helps to improve the residual activity of the application.
  • Low Use Rate: Eco Extend has a low use rate of only 0.5-1.0 oz per finished gallon, making it very economical to use.
  • Plant-Based Surfactant Blend: Eco Extend is made with 100% plant-based surfactants and is free of NPE, EO, and 1,4 Dioxane. It is readily biodegradable and is suitable for green service programs.

How to Use Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant

Eco Extend is easy to use with simple mixing instructions. Fill the tank/reservoir about halfway with water and add Eco Extend with mixing, followed by the pesticide concentrate. Then, add the remaining water and mix. If the pesticide mixing instructions differ, then follow the pesticide instructions. It is recommended to do a small volume mixing test with the pesticide to ensure compatibility. Apply the finished solution as directed on the label of the pesticide.

When to Use Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant

Eco Extend was specifically formulated for blending with botanical pesticides such as Rockwell’s EcoVia EC Emulsifiable Concentrate and EcoVia MT Mosquito & Tick Control botanical concentrate. It may also be used with other water-based and/or water-diluted pesticides. Eco Extend helps to extend the residual protection of both botanical and conventional pesticides, making it ideal for PMPs providing quarterly service treatments since the improved residual activity will help to control pests in between the scheduled service visits.

Because botanical and conventional pesticides are affected by environmental conditions, it is important to find a solution that will help counteract these adverse effects to reduce callbacks and ensure customer satisfaction. Rockwell’s Eco Extend Spray Adjuvant can help to extend the residual effectiveness and enhance the performance of botanical pesticides. For PMPs, this will mean fewer callbacks and increased customer satisfaction.
